Tip 1: Connect With Your Vision
I am a firm believer that motivation can be dangerous. If we rely on motivation to do things, as soon as we don’t feel like it, we stop working on the project. This is applicable for any goal you have: personal, financial, spiritual, or business.
You certainly want to be motivated each day to tackle every single hour, but that motivation needs to come from something bigger. That’s where your vision comes handy.
Your vision should activate you to move each day. Instead of relying on external factors for motivation, let your vision be your driver.
If you truly want that extra level of productivity, perhaps an extra level of connection with your vision is needed before touching your planner. Or else it will end like every journal you’ve got.
Some tips to connect with your vision:
- Create a timeline. Visualize all the great things you want to accomplish in life and business.
- Get your body moving. Sometimes all we need is a new environment to get new ideas.
- Personal connections. Share your vision with someone who cares about you. A friend or a coach.

Tip 2: Set Up Your Pace
Do you need to pick things up a bit or do you need to slow down, focus, and do less? Everyone is on a different journey and we also have seasons where life demands more from us and our performance must be optimum.
Do you know your pace?
There’s a good chance you’re comparing yourself with others. You might be following some people on social media that seem to have it all together. And the more you follow them, the more you realize that your life is completely different.
That happens to all of us.
When I see content creators sharing picture-perfect rooms, I get anxious about my mess. Hey… I might not have a big mess… but in comparison to those picture-perfect places, yeahhhh! And let’s not talk about the Youtubers with millions of subscribers. They seem like they make videos when they sleep while you take 2 weeks to film your first 10 seconds of a video.
When I go to the gym or my amazing Cycle Bar and push very hard and then get an email with my stats that show me that I’m the last… Yikes! It’s tempting to feel like a failure.
But here’s what helps me. I tell myself “I own my pace.”
It doesn’t matter how many things the productivity gurus say that you “should have”. No! You have your own pace.
If all you can do each day is just make your bed, get off your pajamas, and work for 30 minutes in the tasks that are related to your vision, that’s ok.
I learned this concept of setting up your pace once I became a mom of 3. The stretch between having 1 or 2 kids and adding another one is a big one. I needed to be very precise with my time. My management systems, monthly methods of operations, weekly and daily methods of operations were born out of my need to dedicate more time to my kids while building a business. I didn’t have too much free time so I wanted to make sure that my time was best invested.
Then… we became masters of challenges and went for the 4th! By the 4th child, you are a pro at being ok with imperfect days!
Now that I write about this, I think that one of the reasons why I decided to let go of my attorney career was because it required so much perfection that I couldn’t handle that pressure. I remarried at age 30 and wanted to have babies before 35… more than 1 baby. So I knew I wasn’t going to be able to perform at my best while raising my children.
Building a business online was the perfect option for me. And when I realized I could just share the real version of me and connect with people that needed the products I offered, my life became just easy! I get paid to be happy! Can’t complain!
The key here is to set up your pace. Can’t go fast? It’s ok. Go slow but stay consistent. Need to go faster? Ok, you pick up your pace and push!
There are times when my business needs me at a fast pace, and I do it. But all get planned so we don’t break the family systems!
You’re in control of your pace.
Tip 3: Personal Accountability System (PSA)
Highly successful people have strict accountability systems. They hire coaches, join programs, masterminds, and have accountability partners to make sure they are on track. But they also have personal accountability systems that enable them to keep the eye on the prize!
This one is as simple as writing things down so you can come back and review your work. When you’re in school, you have grades. That’s how you know how you are doing. However, in real life, you don’t have grades. Does that mean that you will let yourself fail? No.
In weight loss, for example, when you want to lose weight, they recommend you to write down everything you eat. This is the very first step and yet, most people can’t be consistent at.
Achieving a goal means that you will grow. But this also means that you will need new habits.
